Installation & Configuration

To install Bad Word Filter, you follow the usual steps, as with installing any other Joomla! extension.

Navigate to Extensions > Extension Manager, and under the tab "Upload Package File", you select the zip archive you downloaded from, and click "Upload & Install".

Wait until the package file gets installed and you should see a completion message. You are ready to go.

After installation, the first thing you should do, is enable the plugin. Of course, Bad Word Filter does not contain a full list of the words you may want to filter, so you would have to write the words to filter, and the HTML replacement you would like to show instead.

Sure. Just write {no_badwordfilter} in it.

Common Problems

Please make sure that the item you are trying to filter, does trigger the content plugins. Joomla! articles, as well as Custom HTML modules do trigger the content plugins, but if you are using another extension, you may want to ask the developer. Even if the extension you use, doesn't offer that, you can ask the developer about it, since it is just one line of code they would need to add.

Also, please make sure that the plugin is enabled.
