Bounce Check Not Working

1 month 2 weeks ago - 1 month 2 weeks ago #1 by Brian
Hi - I'm using NsPro for our newsletter & all works really well (thanks!) however when I try to use Bounce Check using a known dummy email addy, it comes back with: Bounce Check Completed: Found: 0 bounce(s). Processed: 0 subscriber(s).

My settings are:
MAIL SERVER: mail.foodwinepetstravel.com
MAIL SERVER PORT: 993
CONNECTION PROTOCOL: IMAP
MAIL SERVER SECURITY: SSL
USE SELF SIGNED CERTIFICATES: Yes
MAIL SERVER ACCT USERNAME: newsletter@foodwinepetstravel.com

I checked with my host Siteground and they confirmed the settings were ok.

Any ideas welcome thanks!

Hello Brian and thank you for posting on our forum!

The settings look ok. Since you get the message that says "Bounce Check Completed...", this means that NS Pro has successfully connected to your inbox and checked for bounces, but found none.
Maybe it's not clear what this button does.

When you send a newsletter out to your subscribers, some of those email addresses may "bounce". That means that an email comes back containing some automated information about the inability to contact this address. These "bounces" are analyzed by NS Pro and related subscribers' records are either set as unconfirmed addresses or deleted, according to your settings.

So, even if you add a false email in your subscribers, the Bounce Check won't be able to detect it until you have sent a newsletter.
Hope this helps.
Thanks again.
