NsPro truncates html in large newsletter

NsPro truncates html in large newsletter was created by David Smith
Hi,
I THINK (caps intentional) that this is an NsPro issue.
I have created a newsletter in an external tool (Mail Designer Pro 3) and exported the html which I have attached and may be useful for your confirmation. I have renamed it to .txt so that I could attach it.

If I click on the html file it displays perfectly in my browser (Firefox).

I then copy and paste the html into a new NsPro newsletter. Before saving the "paste" I have checked that I have pasted the complete html and it has.

After I save the newsletter, I then go back into the newsletter and I find that the html has been truncated. Sending the newsletter via toolkit displays everything up until the truncation. I therefore suspect that there is a limitation on the size of the html I can paste?

Examining the original html file (attached):
Characters: 97,702
Words: 12,998
Lines: 1,197

Examining to NsPro html file after saving:
Characters: 64,704 (64k limit?)
Words: 18,540
Lines: 826

Can you please assist?
Thank you for any help.

Regards

Hello David.

Yes, you are right. The NS Pro Newsletters table has a column named message, which is of type "TEXT". Texts in MySQL have a 64k limitation.
I have seen this issue in the past, but it is highly unusual to need a newsletter that requires that much HTML. Maybe you should check this in the first place.
However, if you require this, 100%, then I can change it in the main version.

I do have a "patch" solution, if you prefer.
You should go to your phpMyAdmin, and run the following SQL to your NS Pro newsletters table.
ALTER TABLE `#__nspro_newsletters` MODIFY COLUMN `message` MEDIUMTEXT
Make sure to change the #_ in the query above, to your db prefix.

Please let me know.
Thanks again.

Hello Christopher,

I think the size of the html is a combination of the content and the tool I am using to create the newsletter. I am sure I will continue to run across this.
If it is not too much trouble, could you please change it in the main version?

I will use the patch in the meantime so no rush. :)

Thank you as always.
Regards
David
