New subscribers are not added to the Subscription was created by Sigríður Magnea Björgvinsdóttir
When registering for a newsletter the new subscriber does not appear in the Subscription Manager but the confirmation email is sent. What could be the problem? I just updated to the latest version but still the same problem persists.

Hello Sigríður and thank you for posting.

I just checked the code and confirmed that it cannot proceed to sending emails if the database has not responded. It loads the Subscriber ID from the database and fails if that is not loaded for any reason. Even after it succeeds, it queries the database again, using that same successfully retrieved ID to fill the confirmation email. It does not use the posted data to fill that.
So, it would be impossible to have any confirmation emails if the database queries didn't work.

Could it be that you are using an email address that is already subscribed, but you are looking for it at the end of the list?
Could it be that you are filtering the subscribers list using a specific mailing list or search and the email address in question is not visible?

Thank you for your answer,
an email to admin regarding the incoming new registration is sent but not a confirmation email to the person who tried to register.
I tried several times my self by deleting old registrations and then registered again with no luck(no additional registration have been added since december).
I also tried to register with an email that has not registered before, with no luck.
There are no filters, looking in All lists and I also tried to export the list to check if I would get another result but still no luck.
Could there be changed configurations or do you have other ideas of what could be the problem?

I am searching the code and cannot find anything that would yield such results.
Have you disabled double opt-in verification?
Can you try enabling it?

The double opt-in is turned on and has been all the time. you can try to register for the newsletter here:

first put in "fjóra" to the anti spam
