Email Not Sent was created by Gary Copping

On the form on this page if I set up to send to my gmail address then I receive the email fine, and if I select "send me a copy" then I get the copy as well. However when I change the recipient to my clients email address ending with @btinternet.com then the email does not appear to be sent or received and also if I select "send me a copy" then I do not receive a copy either.

Can you please let me know if I am doing anything wrong, or can you please investigate.

Thanks,

Gary

Hello Gary and thank you for posting.

In the past, every time something like this has happened, it was some restriction set by the host.
Neither Rapid Contact Ex, nor Joomla has anything to do with filtering the email recipient.

The message is handed over to SMTP (or PHP mail if you haven't set it up with SMTP) and then it is up to your host to deliver the message.
However, if you are using SMTP, then normally you should get a proper success or error message, since, unlike PHP Mail, it is very reliable to send emails.

Please ask your host and let us know!
Thanks again.

Christopher.

OK I am using SMTP and I get the message sent back saying that it has been sent successfully. What I don't understand is why do I not receive the copy requested, even though the @btinternet might not receive the message. If I send to my gmail address then I get 2 copies, 1 to the send address and 1 to the copy address. Any ideas?

I will have a look on the btinternet help site to see if I can see anything about this.

Thanks,

Gary

Well, there might be more than one issue going on here.
Please make sure that you have set the Email field title to #User Email#

Then, also ask your host.

Thanks again.

Yes the Email field is set up correctly.

I have found something about btinternet email accounts which says that the sending domain must have an SPF record set up. I don't know how to do this but will contact my host to ask them how to do it.

Thanks for your help.

I believe that they should have all these records set up, but asking your host is the best way to go.
Thanks again.
