Result calculation logic

6 days 4 hours ago #1 by Martin
Hello,
I’m very pleased with the simple quiz extension. Everything works perfect, I just cannot figure out how does the result calculation logic works.
In my experience when user gets 80% first tIme and 30% the second time in the admin panel the result is 4/13 (30.77%). The test was with 10 questions all mandatory.
Is there a way to show in the admin panel only the last test result?

Hello Martin and thank you for posting and your good words!

When a user is logged in (or the session hasn't been reset) the old results are wiped and only the last results are kept.
Have you edited the questions between the two results?
If that is the case, then it is possible that the old question results were not purged.

Example:
Quiz has 2 questions, A and B.
User takes quiz, answers both questions.
Admin deletes question B and creates questions C and D.
User takes quiz again, only question A results will be purged. Question B results may remain in the database.

Could this be what happened in your case?

Hello

I did this experiment:
1 deleted all result data in back end
2. Did the test with 9/10 right answers. - in the backend the result is 90%
3. With no change at all did the test again(no logout) with result 8/10. And in the back end the result is 11/14(78.57).
4. Did the test one last time with result 10/10. In the backend the result is 14/15(93.33)

The test is done with random selection of 10 questions from test with 16 questions.
Is there a way for the software in the backend to show 80% after the first test, 90% after the second and 100% after the third retake of the test.

Hi again Martin.
This explains it all. The fact that you have a selection of 10 out of 16 questions.

I have fixed the problem and will release an update that includes the fix very soon.
Thanks again!
